The Application:
Backup power for base transceiver station (BTS) equipment in cellular networks. The BTS includes all radio and antenna equipment for the site.
The Solution:
Telect indoor rack and outdoor cabinet with integrated power system.
Description:
The customer's BTS services CDMA and WCDMA technology with a high-capacity design that supports up to eight carriers and 3,456 channel elements in a single standard-sized rack, with expansion capabilities. With the significant capacity being served from the BTS, ensuring safe and continuous power is of the utmost importance. Usage is in both domestic and international network applications.
The Project:
Telect's Systems Integration team partnered with the customer's engineering staff to customize a power system solution to fit the BTS equipment and the general application. Working with the customer to finalize specifications and requirements, Telect developed:
- An outdoor cabinet solution including third-party rectifiers and batteries, controllers and temperature probes, Telect battery cable sets, trays and circuit breaker panels, all completely assembled and ready for deployment.
- An indoor rack solution incorporating rectifiers, controllers and a temperature probe, integrated into a Zone 4 certified seismic rack.
